The Voice Season 8, The Live Playoffs I

The Voice is on and the competition is heating up. The top 20 has already been chosen and even tough some weird decisions were made in the previous rounds, the result was a very dynamic group.

 

Here is my first live payoff review...

Team Blake  

Sarah Potenza "Free Bird": She definitely has an incredible voice one of the most powerful ones in the whole competition. I lover her style and the way she carries herself. However I do believe she needs to connect more with the public and for that she needs to leave her weird introverted indie artist behind. Her age also seems to be something to look at since The Voice audience have a preference for younger talents.

Hannah Kirby "I Feel The Earth Move": She was pure awesomeness, this is how you do it. No wonder why she received an standing ovation from all the four coaches. Her voice range is superb and the best part of the whole performance was the fact that she was herself all the time. No imitations no falseness, I LOVE IT. 

Corey Kent White "Make You Feel My Love": I like this kid, he is pure and raw. Of course he still needs to learn a lot but the connection and intimacy with the audience is there. Is voice is sweet but strong, I feel that he can go father if he improve his stage presence. Adam call him out about the fact that he wanted more from him, well perhaps yes but this is just the first show and he was not the worse.

 Brooke Adee "Love Me Like You Do": Kid that was rough, for me the worst performance from both teams. Although she has a very nice voice, she couldn't manage this song. Brooker was pitchy everywhere except for a few notes, she didn't impressed me with her performance either. Nevertheless her face is the most beautiful among the contestants.

Meghan Linsey "Love Runs Out": You can tell she has done this before, she feels comfortable on stage and her pitch was perfect. Her experience might be her downfall here because people love to see the evolution of an artist. However her perfection should not play against her, she is indeed a great and developed singer.

Team Pharrell

 Caitlin Caporale "Best Thing I Never Had": This girl has a beautiful voice, her blind audition was one of my favorites. Sadly for her Beyonce is a monster when it comes to singing and she could not keep up with the skills that you need to sing this song. She wasn't bad but not good enough, I was a bit disappointed because she can do much better.

Lowell Oakley "Jealous": Nice looking, charming presence but vocally he didn't do the job. What i do love about him is his unique blues style being so young. However this performance did not impressed at all it was ok with some missing vocals.

 

Mia Z "Ain't No Sunshine": O right watch out for her she was the best from Pharrel's team. Vocally she was almost perfect and her song selection was spot on. Her look is very unique and solid. I enjoyed her performance very much it was intimate and graspy, hopefully we will see her in the next round.

Koryn Hawthorne "How Great Thou Art": Ok I am confused with this one, she wasn't bad but why that song? I feel this girl doesn't really know what kind of artist she wants to be. Her voice is very distinctive since she has a low register but I feel no connection with her. It will all depend on his evolution.

 Sawyer Fredericks "Trouble": Fan favorite Sawyer did pretty good on his debut. I is a cute kid with a very unique sound. He is calm yet passionate about the music he plays, he might not have the best voice neither the biggest register but his voice is warm and solid. Audiences love youngsters he will definitely get pass this round.
