We have new Miss Universe Olivia Culpo is the winner but there were many surprises yesterday here is my review of the final night
The show started very quick all the delegates appeared presenting themselves and just in a few seconds Juliana and Andy were already calling the top 16
The Top 16
Turkey, Cagil Ozge Özkul: Wow I think everyone was in shock when we hear Turkey placement. I ranked this girl in a very low 58th position. She is pretty but I never expect to be there. I swimsuit she was ok. Her competition was much better than her there was no way that she could have make it into the top 10. SHOCK SHOCK !
Poland, Marcelina Zawadzka: Another surprise ! Marcelina is a big blonde lady. She is definitely very sexy and for me she looks like a porn star. Perhaps because they were in Las Vegas they want it a girl that remind us of some kind of dirty sin ? in my list she ended in the 47th place. In the swimsuit portion of the competition I didn't even notice her to be honest. She does have a great body but her lack of presence on stage kick her out.
Peru, Nicole Faveron: YES !!! VIVA PERU! she was always one of my favorites in include her in my final top 16. Nicole did great in the preliminary event and she looked beautiful the final night. More than deserved. I see many negative comments about her in the different voy forums and beauty pageant websites but for me she is great. In Swimsuit, she was good but there were other ladies that did good too it was a matter of taste. :)
Croatia, Elizabeta Burg: I was so happy to see Croatia in the semi finalist. She nailed the preeliminary competition and I put her on my top 5. Liz is a very elegant lady her strength is the evening gown competition no the bikini. Her body wasn't fit enough and again the lack of charisma in the runway like the other European ladies sent her out.
Kosovo, Diana Avdiu: What a disappointment ! in fact double disappointment. She wasn't good enough in the preliminary event and again she did poorly during the final telecast. I placed her 30th
over all. Her body was the worse. The judges sent her homer early, good decision.
India, Shilpa Singh: WTH was India doing in the top 16 ? Yes she was in my top 10 when it comes to the interview portion but this is a BEAUTY PAGEANT ! Her face wasn't the best and her body looked really fluffy. I don't know what happen here. Overall I gave her the 80th position. I guess I
was very wrong.
The top 10
Mexico, Karina Gonzalez: She went from the top to the bottom in just a few minutes. Mexico was in my top 16. She looked awesome in Swimsuit but OMG !! Why that dress ?? She was lucky enough to make the semi finalists without the judges not caring to much about the dress besides the preliminary scores are a combination of Interview, Swimsuit and Evening Gown. But when the overall look in Evening Gown depends on whether you advance to the top 5 or not you have to think. Gorgeous face though.
Rusia, Elizabeth Golovanova: She has one of the best faces there is no doubt about that but she did so poorly in the preliminary I was impressed to see her come this far. However her look seems to be appealing to the MU organization very similar to Miss Russia 2008. That evening gown was simply the worst and she did fine in Swimsuit. I placed her in the 48th position.
France, Marie Payet: She was the most soft and sweet candidate of this edition. I placed her in the 17th spot as a close shot. Overall she did very average in comparison with the others. She wasn't that bubbly unlike the others and definitely gave a balance in the runway. She was not going to win but is always nice to see a delicate girl in the top.
Hungary, Agnes Konkoly: Well Hungary. She has a very nice face and in her Swimsuit parade she was definitely one of the best. I live in Hungary and everyone here is super fit they are white but they DNA is like from a black person they get ripped bodies in a second. But because I live there I also know the lack of fashion. That dress was horrible and her presence just wasn't enough to move her into the top 5. I gave her the 51st position and again I was very wrong.
South Africa, Melinda Bam: She was in my top 10 and for many she was Miss Universe. Regarding Melinda she was never in my top 5. Indeed she is a beautiful blonde lady but she looks old. For me she is a more sophisticated version of those housewives reality shows.Very attractive, she did great in both of her runways. However for me there is a lack of charisma or something that never allow me to see her as the winner.. ! I WAS RIGHT !
This is the first part of my review but I cant leave without saying that I truly missed
Puerto Rico, Czech Republic and Paraguay :( I am so sad. They were amazing.
