Fashionista Interview 1, Mary Beth
Starting this week I will start my fashion interview session :) !! A project I planned to do long ago and I finally did !!
My interviews are very simple and dynamic. I just want different people from different parts of the world to express their views about fashion and style. Hopefully all the community interested on fashion will enjoy this interview and know a little more about my awesome and fabulous guests ! ENJOY !!
My first interview is with a wonderful lady, she is all about fashion and style ! enjoy this great interview.
What is your name ? Mary Beth
Where are you from ? Originally, Nova Scotia but I live in NJ and work in NYC now.
What is your profession ? I do online brand management for an evening wear company as well as all their special customer service.
What is fashion ? Fashion
is a part of our everyday life. It the art of ourselves we present to
the world. Whether you’re a minimalist, classicist, impressionist or
live in the abstract, it’s all art.
Who is your favorite designer ? from
a pure design point of view? its an arm wrestle between Dior and
McQueen. Dior is perfection whereas McQueen took that perfection and
launched it into another realm.
Your shoe choice is ? I
love British shoes. I wear Poetic License at work and for going out a
LOT. Louboutins pinch my toes and the angle of the heels makes my calfs
hurt. It was a sad day when I learned that.
What perfume are you wearing right now ? Eau D’Issey by Issey Miyake
You have the hardest time getting dress for ? First
time doing anything is the hardest for me. By this I mean the first
time I meet a boyfriends friends, the first time I take a new class, the
first day at a new job. You don’t know what you’re walking into. My
trick is to dress basic and have alternate accessories in your bag.
Switch em out quick or people will notice.
The accessory you cant live without ? My
Tiffany Infiniti necklace. It goes with everything, even other
necklaces, it pretty, sits nicely in the dip of my collarbone and has a
satisfying weight when I pick it up and drop it back onto my skin.
The fashion trend you hate the most ? Honestly,
I don’t really have an ‘Icon’ I hate. If you are one who lives your
life with enough passion and vigour to become an Icon I respect you too
much to hate you. However, I could do without the never ending
trashiness of Rachel Zoe. Those fur vests are her fault.
Who is your style icon ?
Why ? My style icons are those print ads from the 50s and 60s. The
women in their perfect shoes and purses with the little gloves and the
hat just so. I don’t dress like that but I will move mountains to always
be put together well.
